Hey everyone, I'm new on here, my name's Jared.
Recently, a friend and I found an ad on craigslist for an old Packard for $300 bucks, and being the strange kids we are, decided to drive an hour and a half to Auburndale, Florida to check it out and possibly purchase it.
But when we got there, I was dissapointed at the sad shape that the Packard was in. In my opinion, I thought it was an impossible recovery, although my friend and fellow purchaser, Jackson, disagreed.

But parked next to it, sitting lopsided on three dry rotted wheels and covered top to bottom in thick, green, brushed on lead paint was about the sexiest damn car I've ever seen.

So one day, a lot of discussion, and 300 dollars later, my friend Jackson and I were the now proud owners of a 1954 Hudson Super Wasp.

Although it's well beyond restoration after years of sitting out in the Florida weather, our plan for it is going to be a sure success, and hopefully a pretty awesome living tribute to what Hudson once was: A racecar company

Being a senior in high school and raised in a family full of mechanics and drivers, I've always wanted to get involved in some sort of racing. I've done drag strip, street, and anything I could possibly get into with my 2004 Dodge Rumble Bee, and now, with the help of Jackson and a lot of friends, this Hudson is returning to life from a neglected rust pile to a rollcaged, numbered, and performance driven 24 Hours of Lemons racecar, to once again reclaim the title of the track-dominator that Hudson Automobiles once held.

So far, we've got the car completely stripped of trim, whatever was left of interior, and the AMC 304 smallblock someone had installed poorly under the hood. Our goal is to help out people who own Super Wasps in better condition to restore them by selling off the parts we don't need for reasonable prices, and hopefully use the money we make to further fund our project. The race is in December, so we're moving as quickly as possible. Within the next couple weeks, she's getting a full, professionally installed roll cage and frame to strengthen the rusted out unibody, and well as a 4.0L straight 6 AMC engine(somewhat correct to a Hudson) and a full drivetrain setup.

Anyone looking to buy parts, please let me know. We're working on a budget here so we need to get all the funds we can.

I'll be sure to post pictures as progress continues.
